This is by far my favorite soup to make and why it is my #1 Kitchen/Recipe post! First to gather all required items:

  • Hickory Smokes Ham- 2.3 LBs for 4 people ( Under $10 )

  • 2 Cans of Green Beans- Cut not French (under $1)

  • 1 Container of Chicken Broth ($2)

  • 8 Potatoes ( a bag/$5)

  • A large Pot

  • Salt

First you will peel your potatoes make sure to save your peelings and put to side. Once peeled cut them into quarter size pieces. Place in pot, add the broth, and a pinch or 2 or salt. Turn to medium heat, get the ham out and it will be pre sliced so again cut them into quarter sizes and place in pot. Add your cans of green beans, and 2-3 cans of water. Cover and turn up to a boil. Let it boil for 35 minutes or until the potatoes are easily mashable. Serve and enjoy! P.S - Those potato peels can be composted- if you have a garden or compost container throw them in there 🥔
